Box Erector

Box erectors are machines that form, fold, and seal cases from folded, corrugated cases using tape or hot-melt adhesive to create packaging ready for filling or packing. Box erectors are also known as automatic case erectors or case formers.

Box erectors are typically used in high volume packaging and shipping operations to save time and produce consistent cases. Case erectors enhance the order fulfillment process by assembling boxes quickly, efficiently, and consistently, freeing up your staff for other tasks. Box erectors are often integrated within automated warehouse solutions to improve throughput and reduce manual labor.

How Do Box Erectors Work?

Folded boxes are loaded into the machine, which erects them one at a time. This ensures the bottom of each carton is perfectly square. Many case erectors also seal the bottom automatically, so the finished case is ready for packing.

Why Choose Box Erectors Over Manual?

Manually erecting boxes often results in inconsistent shapes that can compromise strength and lead to damaged parcels during shipping or storage. Automated box erectors significantly increase speed, assembling boxes much faster than manual methods, and ensure each box is consistently formed. They also right-size the packaging around the product, reducing the risk of damage and eliminating wasted space so you’re not paying to ship air. The resulting square, uniform boxes are stronger and better suited for stacking and shipping. Automation also improves packaging efficiency and helps reduce repetitive strain injuries for workers.

Types of Box Erectors

There are many variations of case and carton erector machines that can be integrated into any warehouse environment. They include:

  • In-line units offer smaller footprints and greater flexibility (CF25)
  • High-speed models for high-volume operations (CF50)
  • Mobile, semi-automatic erectors enable 3X faster box construction than by hand (SP304)

Benefits of Box Erectors

  • Reduced labor costs
  • Frees up employees for other work
  • Reduced risk of injury from repetitive strain
  • Less inventory space required
  • Increased consistency and higher quality
  • Decreased risk of shipping damages
  • Increased productivity

Achieve more accurate and efficient packaging when you combine box erectors with other high-performance automated warehouse solutions, such as print-and-apply labeling systems, automatic print-fold-insert systems, and scan-weigh-dimension systems
