Numina Group is a fast-growing company located in Woodridge, IL, that specializes in designing and implementing warehouse automation systems. We are currently seeking a full-time Software Manager to join our team.  

E-commerce and the automated distribution centers that make it possible are key components of the modern economy, and Numina Group is a respected provider of the technology that powers the distribution industry.  We are an established, growing technology company and as a member of our development team, you will join us in designing and creating not just software that drives automation you can see and touch, but software that makes a difference.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Manager to lead one of our software teams. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and deployment of our software products, managing a team of talented software engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally with other teams to ensure seamless solution delivery.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, coaching, and career development support.
  2. Define and implement effective software development processes and methodologies.
  3. Champion best practices in software development and review team deliverables, ensuring adherence to coding standards, architectural principles, and quality assurance processes.
  4. Identify opportunities for improvements in team efficiency and effectiveness and propose solutions.
  5. Drive the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, maintaining alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality goals.
  6. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and innovation.
  7. Clearly define objectives for each member of the team, conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  8. Manage resource allocation and workload distribution among team members.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to ensure the team remains competitive and innovative.
  10. Act as a point of contact for technical escalations and provide timely resolutions.
  11. Maintain effective communication channels within the team and across departments to ensure transparency and alignment on project goals and priorities.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  2. Proven experience (7 years) in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  3. Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, and development processes.
  4. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, C++ or C.
  5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve goals and milestones.
  7. Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Agile, Scrum).
  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  9. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in the warehouse automation industry.
  2. Certification in agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Master).
